Speechless. I won the 2000AD Talent Search Comp!
I have been building up to entering this competition for a few years, have attended the panel and watched with enthusiasm as all the talented artists bravely present their drawing to Industry pros. A couple of years ago I showed Matt Smith the single page I managed but that was as close as I got. This year I just felt ready to tackle it properly. And Damn! I won. Found out in the pub surrounded by friends and my long suffering wife. It was a shock as I didn’t know that I’d been selected as a finalist, but it was a brilliant shock. Thanks to the panel and 2000AD for giving me and all the other artists this opportunity.

And then it’s Dragons’ Den meets the Nerve Centre as Tharg the Mighty’s droids sit in judgement on hopeful artists looking to join their ranks! This year, artists were asked to draw their own version of the four-page story ‘HALF LIFE’, written by former editor of 2000 AD, John Tomlinson!
After a rigorous selection process by Tharg the Mighty, entries from five finalists – finalists Andrew Strachan, Geoffrey Krawczyk, Lee Milmore, Luke Molver and Stephanie – go before our expert panel of artists Doug Braithwaite (Journey into Mystery) and Liana Kangas (Star Wars), and Rebellion graphic novel editor Oliver Pickles. The winner will join previous victors such as James Newell, Robin Henley, Paul Williams, Tom Foster, Daniel Dwyer, Will Morris, and Tilen Javornik.
